The Cross stands a few miles south of Ballinger just off of US Highway 83. The iconic monument was donated by the Jim and Doris Studer family.

Construction was by Steve Jansa of Jansa Construction in Rowena. It was erected on Oct. 6-7, 1993. There was a multi-faith dedication on Nov. 28, 1993.

Visitors can also enjoy the neighboring grotto dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe.
